Therapeutic Approach

I believe in the power of positive thought processes and manifestation. My preferred approach is Cognitive Behavioral based therapies with Person-Centered interventions. I acknowledge the individuality of each client through use collaborative goal identification. I strongly believe wellness is a commitment to your best self.

Specialization and Interests

As a Professional Counselor and Social Services advocate, I have assisted individuals with transitioning from acute care to independent settings.  I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety and grief. I have extensive experience with transient, substance dependent and medically complex populations.

Biography

Prior to employment at Chicago institute for Change, I worked at a residential facility as a Psychiatric Services Director. Raised in a high crime community, I saw first-hand the effects of untreated trauma. Motivated to help, I obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling and professional counseling licensure. My career has primarily consisted of roles based in behavioral health and social services.

Recognizing the disparity in accessible behavioral health services has inspired me to pursue a PhD. in Community Psychology. My personal interests include family time, film study, expressive art, and cooking. I am invested in self-development and self-care, so whenever possible I make time to curl up with a blanket and book.
